i need help i am making a crocheted baby blanket?

i need help i am making a crocheted baby blanket for someone and she wants it to look like the one she had and it has to be very thin and she said it looks like a shell stitch but its not a shell stitch.I tried several stitches and sent her photos and she keeps saying it is to thick i am going crazy please help me !

1. Are you sure it's crocheted? Could it be a knitted feather and fan blanket? Knitting results in thinner fabric than crochet. Otherwise, explain to your friend that if you crochet it with sport weight or sock weight yarn, it'll be thinner. Tell her to focus on the pattern, not the size. If you could post a picture of what you're trying to match, someone may be able to help with the pattern.
