What is a EASY way to get embroidery cross stitches on a quilt top to meet at the corners ,so they are neat?
I am making a lap quilt of a snowman all cross stitch. I was wondering is there a easy way to make these stitches so you don't have to be so tedious trying to get them to meet neatly in the corners where the stitches meet? Thanks.

- If I am understanding you correctly, (and I may not be)...I would do all the stitches in a row slanting to the left only. And then when I get to the end of the row, I would do all the stitches that slant the other way going back towards the beginning of the row that slant the opposite way. (to complete the X). I would not stitch each X, one at a time. I would also try to use the same hole when making the X's and that way they would be touching. I hope I have made some sense.
- There is no easy way as such the first answer gave a good explanation. Are you using an embroidery hoop to keep the fabric taut that helps.
- You could use waste canvas - do the cross stitch over the canvas on top of the fabric, then pull the canvas away afterwards so that the stitches had the canvas as a guide. Or you could use a transfer (either of "x" or dots) to see where to put the stitches. Either use a transfer pen or use french chalk to make the markings.
