Where can I buy a NEW knitting machine?

NOT eBay. I want a brand-new knitting machine. Who still makes them and where can I order/get one? Please and thank you!

  1. I know that Bond machines are still being made new, and I believe that Passap, Brother and a couple of others are as well. The simplest of the Bonds are the Incredible/Ultimate Sweater Machines, and they can be bought from hobby stores like JoAnn's. These do not have a lot of complex patterning options, and are limited to "hand knitting" type yarns, but they do a good job and are a good place to start. I believe that they are running in the $250 price range. More complex machines can do (and cost) significantly more, and can be purchased through their distibutors online. www.bond-america.com www.passapcanada.com www.knittingmachines.ca
  2. In addition to the simple Bond machines available at places such as A.C. Moore, Michael's, Hobby Lobby, and so on, Silver Reed machines are still being made. I have bought two recently--the LK-150 is a plastic-bed mid-gauge portable (lightweight) machine that retails for $400 and the SK-155 is a "bulky" gauge metal-bed (heavy) machine that retails for about $900. Other models are available as well. 5. You can buy 2 different kinds at Michaels or Jo-Ann, but they are the smaller ones, $200 or less. If you want to invest in a Bond knitting machine, check out their website at: http://www.bond-america.com/products/usm.html They knit very quickly, and can be good to use. Good luck.
