What are all the stitches used in knitting?

What are all the different stitches called that someone needs to learn to successfully knit. I'm a beginner and right now just know the basic knit stitch. What else is there for me to learn and what should I move onto next?

1. Believe it or not knitting is just two stitches put together different ways to get different looks: the knit stitch and the purl stitch. Try getting a good book on knitting. A great book is: The Encyclopedia of Knitting. Good luck! I love knitting! (I'm not very good)

3. Once you learn to: Cast on, Knit, and Purl. You will learn to Increase and Decrease. Next comes Yarn Overs, Knitting 2 together, and Ssk's. Here's a great link to get you going.
