What size knitting needles for felting?

Hi all, I am using Lion Wool and I would like to felt it. Size 8 needles are recommended for regular knitting. What size should I use if I want to felt the fabric? How big should I knit the piece if I want it to be 2" x 3" when I'm finished? Thanks!

1. I sugest about a size 10 for felting, you want your fabric to be loose. as to how big to make your piece then i suggest that you make a swatch and see how much it felts.
