Stitches

If i learned 1 type of knit stitch a day, how long would it take me to learn all of them?

Would that work? I would practice it off and on throughout the day till i got it down, and if i forget which is which, i will go back and look at instructional videos when it comes time to do a pattern. I thought it might work. Please give me your opinions and advice. Thanks :)

  1. learning one kind of stitch per day is going to be difficult and ultimately fruitless because you will forget the stitches when you need to know them. I recommend just learning them as you need them. memorizing something for the sake of memorization is a poor tactic, which is why no one retains any knowledge from highschool history classes. The more you make with these new stitches the more you will be able to pull them back from you memory because they will be attached to a particular task, rather than having the memory of a stitch attached to the same memory of the week or two that you take to try and learn them all. have fun knitting!!
  2. Only two days there is a knit stitch and a purl stitch which are the only two stitches in knitting. These two stitches learned in different combinations make patterns.
