Stitches

I'm working on a knitting pattern with instructions that read sp2po. What does this mean and how do I do it?

This mattern is for a crown for my granddaughters Halloween Costume.

  1. This is a type of decrease. It stands for: slip, purl 2 together, pass slipped stitch over. So, you slip the first stitch as if to purl, purl the next 2 stitches together, and then pass the slipped stitch over the decrease. Hope it helps. When I first encountered that one, I had to call my grandmother to figure it out!
