Possible to begin a knitting project on knitting needles, then transition it to crocheting?
I always have difficulty beginning a crochet project, I was wondering if it's possible to cast on, knit a couple of rows, then transition into crocheting? Thank you! a website or maybe a couple tips would be helpful also, thank you :)

- No reason you can't. After all, the crochet cast on is a standard cast on for knitting. I can't see any reason why you couldn't take it the other way and just crochet the stitches off the knitting needle
- I agree. You certainly can crochet from a knitting cast on. I always mix knitting with crocheting. For instance I always use crochet as trimming for sweaters, etc.
- the big difference between knitting and crocheting is that crocheting works once stitch at a time. That is, you "bind off" each stitch as you transition to the next one. There's a great program that just started on my city's PBS station called Knit & Crochet today, and they showed how to transition from crochet to knit by drawing a loop up through each crochet stitch and hooking it onto a knitting needle. I imagine you can knit a few rows and then bind off, crocheting between stitches.
