Knitting: Casting on, help me please?
I'm learning to knit, and I need a bit of help. My Aunt sent me home with a few rows of a dishcloth done, and I do believe I have messed it up beyond repair. I'm not going to see her for a few days and would really like to know how to cast on, and keep knitting. I went on YouTube and searched casting on, is there a specific technique that I should be using to make a dishcloth? Thanks.

- Knittinghelp.com is a really helpful knitting site. I learned most of what I know from there relatively quickly. If it's just a basic dish cloth, I would choose the Single Cast-On
- For dish cloths I've found that knitting on is good as a cast on, and fairly simple. Make a slip knot and put it on the left needle. Insert the right needle from left to right, wrap a new stitch and pull it through, twist it half way clockwise and slip it on the left needle, without removing the right needle, wrap a new stitch, pull through, twist, etc, until you have the correct number of stitches. This gives a good edge with some stretch and no weird extra loops of yarn hanging below.
- Go to http://www.knittinghelp.com and view the videos I prefer the long tail cast on.
