Have you ever used Bernat Softee Baby yarn for a baby blanket?
I am going to crochet a baby blanket for a friend of mine and I just bought this yarn. I have never made a baby blanket before so I was wondering if anyone has tried this yarn or if you recommend a better yarn for baby blankets. Thanks!

- Yes I have and it works up beautifully
- I made a lovely baby afghan in a cream colour and it turned out so soft. The only thing I didn't like about it is the yarn tends to split when crocheting. Next time, I will use a larger hook and extra yarn.
- The first few things I ever crocheted where baby blankets made of Bernat Softee Baby yarn. It frayed a little easily but it wasn't bad. The only thing is that my friend (the one I made all the blankets for my friend's baby) said that she didn't use them as much as blankets I made her later because washing them made them fray a little and she didn't have time to take special care of them. So I think Bernat isn't bad if you are making something pretty, but if you want to make something more durable, I would use a WW acrylic or cotton yarn. That's the standard for baby blankets at the hospital I donate to. I like to use Hobby Lobby's I love This Yarn or Caron One Pound Yarn. Both are really nice once they've been washed and hospitals accept them for donations.
