needs help with a crochet baby blanket pattern?
hello everyone, i found this cool pattern at Micheal's crafts, and the first row confused me i have crocheted other patterns before but cant figure this one out... ch 162 Row 1 (rs) 1 dc in 4th ch from hook. ch 1. miss next ch. (1 dc in next ch. ch 1. miss next ch) twice. *(1dc. ch 1) 4 times in ch, miss next ch. 1 dc in next ch. (ch1. miss next ch. 1 dc in next ch)twice.** miss next 3 ch. (1dc in next ch. ch1. miss next ch)3 times. rep from *8 times more, then * to ** once . miss next ch. 1 dc in top of turning ch 3. turn thanks for any help if any one can help http://www.michaels.com/art/online/projectsheet?pid=e08024&categoryid=168607 is the actual pattern from Micheal's website. if that helps to figure this out

- Substitute the word *skip* for the word *miss* and see if that helps you out. It is rather oddly writtten. Basically you are making what appears to be open spaces in the row after the first stitch. So, it's made a dc in the 4th ch from the hook, ch 1, skip 1 (the next st in the chain, first space made), then dc, ch 1, skip 1,two times, then make a *group* of stitches in the ch by making 1 dc, ch 1 in that stitch 4 times (8 stitches total from that one chain), skip 1. Now it also looks like the pattern is missing an asterisk to delineate the end of the first repeat sequence before the double asterisk sequence starts, but I suspect it should be after the increase popcorn, or shell (can't tell what it should be from that picture) after the miss next ch. But without sitting down and working the numbers out, I can't tell just from reading it. I'd be inclined to e-mail Michael's and ask them if there is an errata sheet for this with a correction.
