Crochet baby blanket help needed. On 2nd row: ch1. 1 sc in first sc.?

What does 1 sc in the first sc. mean?

1. the ch 1 is what you use to turn your work around... the first stitch of the next row goes in the LAST full sc on the previous row... *(you skip the chain one stitch completely..... so you'll end up with each row starting on the top of the last stitch in the row before, with the chain 1's becoming like a twisted rope design on the edge of the piece....
