Would you feel obligated?
Parents, A family member of mine is pregnant, and I want to do something special for them. I really want to make a baby pillow, just for decor, but because I don't have a sewing machine and no experience, I'm worried it won't turn out right. I'm getting really good at cross stitching pictures. I found a really nice pattern, that I'll frame after. I want to give them a thoughtful gift, but I don't want them to feel obligated to hang it up if they don't like it, or doesn't go with the baby room. Would you feel obligated? Were you ever given a gift like this...did you like it? Did you hang it up?

- Well I didn't receive any handmade gifts and I would have loved to. Anything can be store bought but something that was made by hand is extra special so yes I would display it.
- I think that would be a very sweet and thoughtful gift! I think you should make the pillow. Sentimental things last longer and mean more than materialistic things. :)
- I didn't recieve any homemade hangups. But mom did make me a nice and beautiful crowsha blanket and little booties and don't forget the hat to with it, it was all pink. As soon as my daughter was born I went to have her picture taken in it right away. And even tho my child turned 2 not long ago I still have that baby set my very own mom made for me and I will keep for my daughters generation as well to show her how much her grandparents love her and her mommy to.
- i would most def display it where every one could see it.. i love getting homeade gifts..... you are a very good person for wanting to do this....
- I think it is risky because you might get offended if they don't put it up and they might feel obliged to put it up even if they don't like it. Usually if you go with a little bit older clothes like 6 months it usually goes down well because everyone will have bought them newborn If you need any ideas check up the blog below
