  1. If you spend some time doing a few stiches when you first notice a tear - you won't split out your whole pants seam and have your ass hanging out. Doing a little now can save you lots of time and effort in the long run.
  2. Fix your problem ahead of time before it becomes bigger than you can handle.

  4. If you take the time to do something now (eg, stitch a hole) instead of rushing it, then you'll avoid having to stitch more times later on...ya know? ie, taking time now saves time later
  5. If a stitched seam begins to unravel, you can stop the unraveling by adding 1 stitch with a needle and thread. If you don't get to the unravelling right away, it will require much more than 1 stitch to close the seam, maybe more than 9.

I saw a movie and this lady and child was getting kicked out of their house . as they lay in bed talking the mom noticed that the blanket her mom made her had a hole in it . she told the daughter ill sow it .when the daughter asked why right now she tol her he mom tout her to Fix thing right away and used that proverb. when she went to sow it up she found her mom life saving in the blanket and saved the day.
