Stitches

Spiritually speaking, have you ever saved 9 with a stitch in time? What the frak is a stitch in time anyway?

And what the hell am I supposed to be saving 9 of with a stitch in time? Am I saving 9 Christians... or possibly 9 atheists?

2. It's about preventative maintenance, resew a ripped seam before it rips further
3. stitch in time, saves nine.......more get a small hole in your, socks for example. Not everyone always had the ability to just run to WalMart and buy another 6 pack, usually the socks were darned. If you caught the hole before it was large enough you could place one stitch and the hole would close and be well wearable.....saving yourself nine more stitches since the hole didn't get bigger. Spiritually speaking of course....about holy socks.
4. spiritually speaking yes, it means at the first sight of a problem ( eg a split seam ) dealing with it straight away ( sewing the seam ) prevents the problem getting worse, and taking more effort ( stitches ) to resolve.
5. It's a knitting/sewing term. If you fix a problem before it gets too big, it's easier to fix. You're saving nine stitches.
