Any good crochet patterns for a beginner?

I want something like a cell phone case.I am 11 and a complete beginner.Those abbreviations confuse me so if you or a website has easy instructions with no abbreviations then that will be great!Also,let's say I made a sweater,instead of making loops,how do I make a slit to put a button in?Thanks!
