What is an IDB file? What program creates it? Do I need it to sew out embroidery designs?

This is a file that comes with some of the machine embroidery designs that I purchase. I want to know if I can delete this file type. They are small but still take up space.

1. Is there a tilda (~) before the file -- and do they go away when the program closes? It's possible you are referring to ".LDB" files -- which are temporary files that appear when an MS Access database is opened. It could be possible that your sewing program database uses Access -- hence will temporary create these files -- then close them after the program closes. Good luck!
