How do I make a crochet heart that looks like a heart?

I've tried a pattern for crocheting a heart but it looks like a blob how do I crochet a heart?

1. I've used this pattern to make a little purse, but you could just make one heart. You have to be signed up for ravelry, but if you're not, do it. I have used her directions for crocheting a cloche hat, she is very good at teaching methods .
