Stitches

What are some good quality materials/fabrics used for clothing?

For example, like what should I be looking for in general when I buy everyday clothing? Not formal dress or suits or anything (im only 16). I know you're supposed to be looking at the stitching and everything but what about the material? For example, polyester, cotton, nylon, rayon, silk, etc

  1. I'd actually recommend buying from a good manufacturer rather than buying according to the fiber content. For example, while shopping at thrift stores I've noticed that clothing by Eddie Bauer, LL Bean, Cutter and Buck and Banana Republic still looks great after it's been worn a lot. This is because those manufacturers generally use exceptional quality materials. You might pay more for an Eddie Bauer shirt, but it's going to last a long time and look good.
  2. Polyester, nylon, rayon, and spandex are all completely synthtic fibers. Cotton, wool, linen, and silk are all good natural fibers.
