My stitches are itchy... normal?

I had arthroscopic surgery on my knee 5 days ago and everything feels pretty good but my stitches are itchy and burn slightly from time to time. Is this normal?

1. as long as they aren't abnormally red and swollen, then they're fine. it just means they're healing.
2. 100% normal. The itching is a sign of the healing process. It'll feel REALLY GOOD to get them removed, too. :D
3. Yes, it is completely normal. Skin usually itches when it is healing. If it is making you crazy, call the doctor. Ask if you can take OTC Benedryl. That antihistamine will ease it.
