Can the nurses/docs give you a local anaesthetic to remove stitches from an already existing very sore?
skin graft? My mum is due to have her stitches taken out 9 days after her skin graft on her collarbone, but she is incredibly sore and won't be able to tolerate it being done. She is having to take 6 Ibuprofen's for the soreness alone and I cry alone at night with worry. Can they anaesthetise it?

- Local anesthetic isn't given for removal of sutures, "6" ibuprofen it way too many, are you sure you have this info right?
- Yes
- Yes they can give a local but she shouldn't really be taking 6 ibuprofen at once. If she is having it taken out in the morning, she should take two night before and then 2 before the procedure and after etc (being careful not to exceed the maximum dose is 24 hours)
