- It means knit from the back of the stitch. It is usually done to increase the number of stitches in the midst of a garment. See the attachment for "how to" http://knitting.about.com/od/learntoknit/ss/knit_front_back_2.htm
- It means to knit into the front and then the back of the same stitch. This is one way to make an increase, to add one more stitch to the row. You would do it exactly as it says... knit into the front as normal, but don't take that stitch off the left needle.. and then knit into the BACK of that same stitch and then take it off the left needle. So from that one stitch you have made two stitches. You should review all these abbreviations: it will come in handy one day! http://www.socknitters.com/Tips/knitabbr.htm
- Actually, it is an increase. You knit normally & then, without dropping the stitch off the needle, knit through the back loop also. I just do my regular knit stitch, pull a little extra yarn out, and put my working needle in through the end of the row & out the back to make the second stitch. You then drop both stitches off the needle.
- this is a basic bar increase. kfb means knit into the front and back of the next stitch. this video will show you how to do this stitch http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/increases its the fourth link from the bottom under kfb
