- nothing thats the whole expression it doesnt continue as far as i know
- Stitches. If a piece of cloth or clothing is developing a small tear, it is better to fix it right away, with one stitch, than have to fix a much large hole later on (with nine). The saying means attend to problems early, while they are small, and do not wait until they become really big problems.
- "A stitch in time saves nine" STITCHES, of course. What it means is that if you take care of a small problem, it won't go on to become a BIG problem. Using the idea of a hole in a garment, if you mend it when it's small, it's better than if you wait, because then it will become a big hole requiring more stitches.
- The point is, if you sew one stitch now, you won't have to sew nine stitches later.
- are you guys sure that it doesn't mean to take your time and do things correctly the first time or you will have to go back over and re-do something that will be more trouble?
- a stitch in time saves nine.
