  1. nothing thats the whole expression it doesnt continue as far as i know
  2. Stitches. If a piece of cloth or clothing is developing a small tear, it is better to fix it right away, with one stitch, than have to fix a much large hole later on (with nine). The saying means attend to problems early, while they are small, and do not wait until they become really big problems.
  3. "A stitch in time saves nine" STITCHES, of course. What it means is that if you take care of a small problem, it won't go on to become a BIG problem. Using the idea of a hole in a garment, if you mend it when it's small, it's better than if you wait, because then it will become a big hole requiring more stitches.
  4. The point is, if you sew one stitch now, you won't have to sew nine stitches later.
  5. are you guys sure that it doesn't mean to take your time and do things correctly the first time or you will have to go back over and re-do something that will be more trouble?
  6. a stitch in time saves nine.
