How can you tell if stitches on a cats belly are infected?
I just had my 2 female kittens spayed on Tuesdayand today is Friday. The one kittens belly is fine with a little bit of swelling. The other kittens belly is a little more swollen and had a little tiny drop of clear fluid with some pink, come out of her stitches and incision. Should I be concerned and call the vet? Is it getting infected? I'm worried.

- It's probably just part of the healing process but if you have ANY consernes, call the vet.
- if i was you i would call the vet and probally bring her in just to be sure that what they teel you to do anyhow once you get them sprayed i hope i helped and i hope the kitty is ok if its infection shes prolly fine just need some antiboticts so just call the vet and she should be fine
- surely your vet did stitches on the inside also, my female pulled all of her stitches out and it really looked gross, skin just hanging there and it looked swollen but i took her up there cause i was scared and he said it would be ok because he stitched her up on the inside. If it looks any kind of swollen to you I would take her to be on the safe side, if it did turn out to be infected it would cost a lot more to deal with that, than to get her checked out now.
- To: The Future Mrs. Kerr: it's spayed not sprayed... ********************************************** As for the very good question itself, If you have any concerns, please phone your veterinarian. Better safe than sorry, right??
