How do I make a crocheted baby blanket with a scene on it?
I am looking for a pattern that will make a blanket that has a pond on it with ducks on the pond. Or maybe a nature scene of some sort. I don't know what it is called but I have seen it in a book some where but I lost the pattern.

- What I do when I want to do a design on a blanket is make my own pattern on graph paper. decide what stitch you are going to use (for scenes a single or a half-double is best) and what size hook (depends somewhat on the yarn, but I like a G or H hook so the image is nice and tight). To make your pattern you draw a square on the graph paper for your blanket and pick a number of stitches for each square (I try to keep this number small, it comes in handy later), then sketch out your picture. Then you count out how many stitches in each color you will need before you switch off colors by counting how many boxes on the graph are in each line of the drawing. Where the drawing cuts through boxes, you have to estimate numbers using your own good judgment on what makes sense and what percentage of the box appears to be what color.
- If you have a digital image of what you want, upload it. Each block is 1 stitch. Use single crochet to make your squares & change colors.
