Itch relief for skin near an area that has been stitched with disolving stitches?
AHHH, I had gallbladder surgery over a week ago and had dis-solvable stitches put in. The skin near the area ( not the stitches themselves) are itching like crazy. Basically my midriff and my upper abdomen are driving nuts. I know i have to keep the stitches dry and clean, but is there anything i can do for the surrounding area? Any advice would be so helpful. THanks!

- try using a hydrocortison cream just be careful not to get it too close to the sticthes. You could also try using lotion. since you have to be careful not to get the sutures wet, your skin may be dry.
- Oil of Oregano is great for rash and itches. You can get some at health food store-make sure its undiluted and mix with olive oil. Buy at least 70% Carvacrol. I buy mine from Oreganoworld.com-undiluted-very powerful for $19oz-very good price, too. This is wonderful and powerful. My daughter just cured Strep Throat in 3 days and I cured a rash-Candida-I had for 14 months. It took the itch right away-and I took internally, too, which you don't need to do-but it works for itch. I wish you the best.
- Lilyamng, You don't need hydrocortisone unless there is redness. If there is redness, you would need to make sure it is not infected. Safer suggestions is to use "SARNA" lotion, which you can get OTC at a larger pharmacy. Use as needed. Very safe as long as you don't get it in your eye.
