Stitches

How do you know when to remove your stitches?

I have 9 stitches on my index finger, and the doctor said 10-14 days. I was wondering how should the stitches look right before you are about to remove them? It's been 8 days now.

  1. Wait for 10-14 days. From what I remember when I had stitches, the skin around them starts to dry out and peel. Listen to your doctor. Just wait for at least 2 more days to be safe. If it splits open again you will have stitches for another 10-14 days.
  2. dont take them out your self
  3. If you can move the stiches around, i would take them out. Just cut them.
  4. The Dr. told you when they should be removed. They will look like they look in 6 more days.
  5. go 2 the doctor and they will remove them
  6. Well...they will still look quite stitchy to be honest. Just go for about 12 days and go see a doctor then or a nurse to get them removed. they will know if you need to wait a few days or whether they can come out then.
