- Hi,Congrats on the pregnancy! Ok, where it says *knit 2 stitches together, ( I am assuming you are right handed ) take your right knitting needle as if to knit the next st and put it through 2 stitches and knit them, then you knit the next 6 stitches as normal. Then you want to knit 2 stitches together again, then knit 6 stitches as normal again. You need to keep doing this until you reach the end of the row.Good Luck and Happy Knitting!
- instead of holding one thread when you stitch, take 2 threads. That's how you get your decrease
- Knitting 2 stitches together decreases your stitch count by one. You knit 2 stitches together as if they were a single stitch. There's a video on this site that shows how to k2tog. http://www.knittinghelp.com/knitting/basic_techniques/decrease.php Watching it will probably be more helpful than a lengthy description.
- It means that you continue that pattern to the end of the row. With knitting anytime you see * you do the part after that and then repeat to the end of the row. You are decreasing that is why you would knit 2 together. After you finish the row you will hve few sticthes on you needle. Jenn
- Congrats on the pregnancy!! :) You have to knit two stitches together, then knit 6 stitches like you would normally do and then repeat both steps until you finish the row. Some patterns use the *'s to separate instructions that have to be repeated, some use () Like someone suggested, look into http://www.knittinghelp.com it is a great website to start, it even has a forum. Good luck with knitting and the baby!!
- This means you're getting to the end of that cap! whenever you see a * that means there will be a repeat. The advice you've gotten is correct. Knit 2 stitches together means to put your right hand needle into the next 2 stitches instead of the next one stitch like you would normally do. Then knit it as though it's just one stitch. Now, knit 6 more, but regularly. Then, repeat those 2 steps until you get to the end of that row. Come on back later if you need help with the booties! There are lots of talented knitters on here to help!
