question on digitizing with motif fill?

Recently I started learning how to digitize on my own. And I have a question about digitizing embroidery designs using motif fill. I am pretty sure that to make a "brick" or "stone wall" pattern you can use a motif fill without having to actually draw individual bricks. But I can't get it to work and I can't find a tutorial on how to do it. Can anyone explain to me how to tackle motif fill to perform this effect?

1. Sounds like you do not have a support group! It depends upon what software you are using, so unless I knew the software you are using I can't answer. However, there are tons of digitizing groups on Yahoo Groups. Go to Yahoo.com home page - look at left column - click on Groups and then search for machine embroidery digitizing or the 'name' of your software - If you happen to be using Embird there are tons of support groups for that program specificially and you can just search for "embird". But there are all kinds of digitizing software support in the Yahoo Groups. Just need to figure out which ones will help you and join them! Hope this helps you!
