Does it hurt when the doc removes stitches?
I have 5 stitches in my head that were used to close up an incision, the area is very sensitive, how will they remove it? will they just rip out the stitch from my head?

- YES!!!111oneone!!111
- When I have had stitches removed they never hurt. I felt a pulling sensation but that was all.
- hurts less than when they put them in. and plus you probably allready have been given pain killers, or you can request them. tell them you have anxiety about this since its on your head. maybe theyll give you some xanax or valium. maybe even a soma. then you wont feel a thing lol at least tell them you need codene lol
- No it wont, i had 5 stiches before it never ever hurt expect the first one.
- it shouldn't hurt depending on how well they actually put them in...so most likely it will be almost painless...to put stitches in, all they basically do it put a small thread through the tissue and pull it through to bring the skin together and make the scar smaller. this also allows your wound to heal faster. to remove them, they simply snip the tied stitches and pull them out...no problem...don't be worried about it
- It shouldn't hurt too much. If it does, then it'll be nothing like getting them in. The doctor will cut each stitch then pull the thread out. There may be a slight tugging feeling, I felt that when I got stitches removed from my forehead, and then the skin sort of relaxes, feels like the skin has been released, and your done. If your worried about it, ask your doctor for some sort of pain killer etc. Good luck... Get better soon!!
