Cost of removing stitches?

Hi, I've just cut my leg open and needed stitches in the UK. they need to be removed in 10 days time and I will be in Florida then! Does anyone know how much it costs to get stitches removed in the USA? Is it easy enough to sort out? Any comments would be much appreciated. Thanks

Ask the Dr if you can remove them yourself? It isn't too hard unless there are extenuating circumstances. Clip the thread, grasp with a clean pair of needle nose pliers (wash and alcohol them) and jerk the end with the knot. It only stings for a second. Ask the Dr to be sure. Good luck.
Nothing if you do it yourself. A pair of manicure scissors or nail clippers and a pair of tweezers work just fine. Make sure that the cut is completely healed. If in doubt, wait a couple of extra days. Cut the stitch and pull out with the tweezers. Sterilize everything that you are using with rubbing alcohol before beginning and the cut afterwards.
10 days does not sound like enough time to heal. I had the bridge of my nose stitched for 14 and that area heals fast, "church league soft ball" don't ask.. best bet is to have it checked at a walk in clinic to be sure you're ready. but removing the is easy if the time is right, just snip and pull... be sure to sterilize tools before and after.
