Questioner's avatar Need to cut 16"x9" cloth only one time and stitch it only once to make 12"x12" cloth. Is?

Yes, the problem is to make 16'*9' table cloth into 12'*12' by cutting it into two pieces only with one cut and stitching them again into one piece of 12'*12'. Note: We assume area of cloth is not reduced (no wastage) by cutting and stitching .

1. are you sure no waste I don't see how without waste to lose a foot in one cutting fold at twelve fold so that by cutting out the fold you lose the foot and leave the 3 ft to stitch on.that's the only thing i can think to do.
