When knitting a pattern, does the slip knot count as one of the cast on's?

I'm knitting my 1st baby blanket and the pattern calls for casting on 127. I use a slip knot to start, but does it count as the 1st cast on, or do I cast on 127 after the slip knot? Awesome, thanks! :)

1. The slip knot does count! So now you just need to cast on 126 stitches!
2. Yes, the slip knot counts as one of the stitches. Only cast on 126 more - not 127. If you need anymore help, I'll be glad to help if I can.
