Working French Knots in Counted Cross Stitch?
I have a Thomas Kinkade kit that I am currently working on. All of the flowers are supposed to be french knots. Do I work the french knots in the middle of the designated square or do I work a knot in each of the 4 holes on the pattern? I don't want to have the white aida cloth showing through the floss.

- I didn't find anything helpful in Roxann's site suggestion. I found that if you part the thread on the left side of the 'box', do the french knot and part the thread on the other side of the 'box' it will most likely work for you. You might try keeping the french knot loose to take up most of the square. Good luck!!!!!
- I'd work the French knots in the way that gave the best coverage, one knot to an indicated square, in the absence of specific directions. The Kinkade kits are usually on 14-count fabric, which would require a good-sized French knot. I would look for an instruction that tells you how many threads to use and how many "loops" to do. If there is not one, I would experiment with the number of threads and the number of loops until I got a look I liked. JMO.
