How do you keep 2 dogs (who are best friends) away from each other while dog's stitches heal?
They are inseperable for most of the time. However my beagle has recently had a major operation and must not come into contact with any other dogs. My lab is outside at the moment whining. Usually they would both be curled up together at my feet at this time... Is there an easy way to do this?

- You've probably done the best thing, unless the beagle can be crated and the lab loose and then switch. This is a good reason why dogs should become indepent of each other. It would be easier if they were friends, but were used to spending some time apart.
- I think you should keep them seperate until the stitches some out, it would be safest for your beagle. I know it will be hard but it will be best.
- IM sure this is destressing. If you have wire kennel for one with stiches they could at least be in same room. They are expensive so you might borrow onw, but clean it welll before putting dog in. Other then that you might need kennel, or friend to take, other till first can heal some. Fortunatly dogs heal very fast but only vet can say for sure. Also keeping in seperarted rooms is other alternative. Good luck and speedy recovery. *mamatx
- A wire crate. So they can still see and be near each other, but the beagle will be confined.
