Looking for Latin/Central American crochet patterns?

I really want to crochet an El Salvador flag mat, tea towels etc for my mother in law. But can't find any such patterns. Does anyone have any latin patterns or know of any good books or websites?

1. If I remember correctly, the flag is blue and white with a seal (crest) in the middle, right? The stripes should be easy, but I think you'd have to embroider the crest on. I don't know of any patterns so my suggestion would be to get some graph paper and head for the nearest Kinkos and have them enlarge a picture of the flag onto the graph paper. That way you could get an idea of what to expect as far as colors and size goes on the crest part.
