Well this is baby number 3 for me...all?
of which I needed episiotomies for. This time I was cut and also tore so I have 2 sets of stitches. It still hurts, bad, like burns...It's been 2 weeks since I delivered. Any thoughts?

- It will take about two more weeks for it to stop hurting. I was cut and I tore for my first and it hurt like hell for close to a month. I tore with my next two and it did not get any better. try to find ways to keep comfortable and use tucks they do help.
- I had an epesiotomy with my first, and I tore really badly with my second. With my second, it seemed like it took almost a month before I felt back to normal down there. And it seemed like it got worse right there in the middle. But it will get better, I promise. My doctor explained to me that the burning means that the stitches are healing. But if it's burning and it doens't go away within a few days, I'd call the doc. It could mean an infection. But mine went away...it took almost a week, but it went away. Good luck to you, and congrats! edit: Also, I tore in two places as well. I had to have stitches on my labia, as well as my perineum. So I feel for you honey.
- I had a 3rd degree tear so I know how bad it hurts. It will take a few more weeks to start feeling right again. I remember it seemed like it was taking forever to get better...and the bleeding...holy cow. It seemed like it would never end. I didn't know this at the time, but I heard that taking a pad and running it under water-and then putting it in the freezer for awhile---can really help. Also they have this spray that you can use, you spray it down there everytime you use the bathroom. It numbs the area for awhile...I used that alot. I think it was called Dermaplast ...or something like that. It is normally used for burns and stuff like that...Anyway I hope you feel better soon.
