If you don't have an embroidery hoop can you still embroider fabric? I want to stitch some letters, any ideas?
I have the floss and needles, but no hoop, is there something I can make with household objects or is there another way?

- You can substitute a small wooden picture frame and a couple of thumbtacks.
- You don't need to have a hoop, but you do need to be aware of how tight you're stitching. If it's just a small area, you could probably get away without a hoop, gently pulling the thread through the fabric just to set the thread. Hope this helps. Good luck!!!!
- Lots of folks stitch "in hand". Just hold the area you're working on tautly between your fingers (thumb & forefinger) with one hand while you stitch with the other. I did that for a bookmark I worked on recently; it was just too small for any of my q-snaps (Btw, check out q-snaps instead of hoops. They're awesome).
