What's the best glue to attach embroidery floss to cardstock?

I'm looking to finish my homemade holiday cards in a few days and would like to use embroidery floss for decorations. What is the best (recommended) adhesive to attach the floss to the cardstock where it won't ruin the background?

1. Just use good old PVA glue (the type that comes in huge bottles). Althought it's not the strongest, it is one of the most versatile glues for crafting. Good luck!
2. Elmer's makes a craft glue that comes in a fine tipped pen. If you're very careful about sticking the floss just to the pen lines, I think it could work. I think I found it in the scrapbooking section of Hobby Lobby.
