1. Because one stitch now will stop it from ripping into a gaping hole. Not sure about time flying.
2. I think when we tend to think about time, we think fondly of past memories and it seems like time has gone so fast because doesn't 4 years ago feel like just yesterday? But, we tend to think of the "bad time" when we are currently in it...like when it is the last 15 minutes of the work day and you swear the clock isn't moving.
