I would like to learn how to crochet ,I have always done knitting but see lovely things to make in crchet and?
I am a very good knitter but i would like to crochet,I have tried from books but dont understand the abbreviations for the stitches

- don't let the abbreviations put you off. crochet is as simple [or tough ;-)] as knitting. there are umpteen websites which tell you what the abbrv stands for. there are also diagrammatic & video tutorials on the web for you to learn from. below are some links that may give you the necessary info. You can also type in the relevant abbrv in search engine - it'll take you directly to detailed info. otherwise, investing in a very basic crochet stitch book [or borrowing from library] will help you throughout in future too. however, remember, the UK & US systems are different. although the abbreviations are the same, the stitch is different. so don't be confused, just make sure which system is being followed for the pattern.
