what's the best site to learn to knit and crochet?

i'm a beginner and i really want to learn to make great stuff.

1. I don't know about an online website, but I have seen books in the crafts store about knitting and crocheting. If you're unable to get any answers for online assistance, why not just pick up a book on the subject.
2. Lion Brand has a good site for beginners: http://learntocrochet.lionbrand.com/ Also, all over the web there are sites that have video tutorials on different stitches. Just do a Yahoo search, and I'm sure you'll find one that you like best. :)

4. IMHO, the best site for learning how to knit is http://www.knittinghelp.com because there are instructional videos there.
5. I like www.crochetpatterncentral and www.knittingpatterncentral Both of those have diagrams and directions for "how-to" as well as a good variety of patterns to download. The various yarn companies also have websites --type the name of the yarn in the search and you should get the website.
