How to get from the Port Authority Bus Terminal to the Knitting Factory in NYC?

I want to travel to NY and all I need to know is how to get from the Port authority terminal to the Knitting Factory. (-_-' ) Is there a map that shows the distance between the two? or some website for information on the maps? Any knowledge will help, thanks. (^_^)

2. My friend, here how to get from Port Authority to the Knitting Factory, located at 74 Leonard Street between Church Street and Broadway. Step 1: take the downtown (southbound) #1 local trains (Red Line) from 42nd Street-Times Square to Franklin Street. Step 2: at Franklin Street, exit the subway and walk a block south along Varick Street from the subway station to Leonard Street (Varick Street merges with West Broadway at Leonard Street). Turn left on Leonard and walk a block and a half east from Varick Street/West Broadway to 74 Leonard Street. The Knitting Factory is located on the south side of Leonard Street.
