Why do clothing makers stitch the back pocket together so I can't use it?
The back pockets on my pants are stitched together and I don't know why. I put a finger in there between the strings tying the pocket together to make sure it was a real pocket and not a decoration pocket...it doesn't make sense why they would make a pocket and then restrict its use. What gives?

- Decoration.
- The mind of the designer is scrambled. For looks, I guess.
- I have some pants like that, too, but usually it is sewn very loosely and you can undo the sewing and it is a real pocket. I think they sew it so that dirt doesn't get in there before the pants are sold. Check the inside of the pants. If it looks like there is a pocket there from the inside, you can probably very easily undo the sewing.
- If it is big stitch, you can cut it off. If it is a small stitches, probably it is error during production and they fail to detect the problem. You can bring it back to the store to exchange for a new one. Good luck.
