What is the best way in crochet to join squares together?

I have made several squares that I want to join for a blanket. They aren't all the exact same size because I'm still learning but it looks really cute. It's just something for me anyway so I'm not too critical. Kinda the thing like "I made this!". I read you can sew them together or crochet them together (yikes...that might be a mess for me) but I was wondering what would be the best way or the easiest way. Any thoughts? Thank you!

1. The easiest way is with a large darning needle and yarn , especially if they are not even ;)))
2. Hi, the best way to join the squares is to crochet them. But normally the squares have a small crocheted border for to can be joined with the other one.
