  1. nopz..not that i know of..
  2. I knew somebody. He is a guy, he loves knitting or repairing damaged dolls. He is not a gay but he is just fond of needlework. He also loves fashion.
  3. Yeah, one of my sister's friends did. He was pretty good a it. But it is "girly" like hunting is "manly". It comes from very old traditions on the man hunting for food because the family NEEDED it and the woman making the family's clothes. We are well beyond having to make our own clothes or having to hunt to survive. Throw out the tradition.
  4. I had a uncle who enjoyed doing needle work and he was very much a man. I have heard of other men that enjoy this as well.
  5. omg, my husband's friend at work--he is married, with 2 kids, 100% hetero (pretty cute too btw) and he knits. I do think it is weird, then I feel weird about thinking it's weird cuz hey--it's just yarn. But really I think men have a lot of pressure to be "studly" and "manly" ---it would be, and is, more acceptable for a woman to be a construction worker or a shop teacher or a mechanic than it is for a man to do needlework. Hmmmm...
  6. My great uncle courted my great aunt by knitting with her; their friends called them "knit wits." Of course, that was about 75 years ago. If it makes you happy, who cares what others think?
  7. yeah, john gray of lubbock texas. a fairly successful artist. does lovely landscapes in needlepoint. he also works with other textiles. and my best guy friend sews, does native american bead work, and has dabbled in other textile media. pretty cool stuff. it's only awkward if you let it be awkward. and consider, there are other cultures where this sort of work would be expected of men.
  8. Funny enough, less than a hundred years ago, all men knew how to knit because socks were not sold at stores were always made at home. If a man happened to be on it own, he'd have to be able to knit or else he's get very cold feet. My grandfather knows how to knit
