  3. The book starts off at the end of WW2. Clare Randall, a nurse, meets up with her husband Frank and they go to Scotland to get 're-acquainted'. Unfortunately, Clare stumbles on an ancient stone circle and ends up 200 years in the past, just before the Jacobite rebellion. She ends up in the company of a group of highlanders, one of whom is called James Alexander McKenzie Fraser and who happens to be the most perfect man ever. He even sulks perfectly. Much craziness ensues (as it would if you found yourself in this situation) and Clare and Jamie have to get married so the English cannot take her back to England. Naturally they fall madly in love and Clare eventually tells Jamie that she is from the future and he believes her. See, I told you he was perfect, most Scot's would have responded "Och aye, ye canna be serious. Does tha' think I am goin' ta fall fo' that roobish? It's off to tha' gallows with ye, ya wee beesom' Or some such. She warns him about the upcoming Jacobite rebellion and the carnage that will ensue at Culloden, but he insists he must fight with his men. She fall pregnant, but loses the baby in Paris where they are trying to convince Bonnie Prince Charlie not to fight for the English Throne. During all this, she works as a 'healer', using her medical skills to save lives that would have otherwise be broken - something that almost gets her hanged as a witch. Anyway, in the end she falls pregnant again and Jamie takes her back to the aforementioned stone circle as the uprising is about to begin and he must go and be all Scottish and brave. and wants her and the baby to be safe. They embrace passionately and Clare goes back through the circle and back to her own time.... A lot more happens than this, and there are six more books in the series with at least two more to come...you should read them!
  4. If you're having trouble finding information, it might be because that book is called OUTLANDER in the U.S..
