How long do dissolving stitches last for?

Got my tooth pulled on Wednesday and they put disolving stitches in apparently, but the stitches keep being pulled taut ribbing my gums and they dont seem to be disolving anywhere. I dont think they are disolving stitches but its only been 4 days so how long do disolving stitches last for before they disolve?

6. When i had stitches in my they lasted about 2 weeks - maybe slightly longer.
7. Generally one week but sometimes can last 2! If they are still there 2 weeks after the extraction call your dentist they will take them out, it takes about 20-30 seconds.
