- It is easy to convert the stitches from American to British: american british sl st sc sc dc dc tc etcetera! http://www.crochet.about.com is a good place to start http://home.inreach.com/marthac/links.html this one sometimes works and sometimes doesn't
- I have a crochet pattern book (all adult stuff, I'm afraid) that was published in England. The only difference I can see is the measurements. They use the centimeters instead of inches. Both in the sizes of the articles and the sizes of the crochet hooks. A single or double crochet is the same stitch no matter the language. Try the Lion Brand Yarn website for some adorable free patterns. Good luck!
- I looked at a site and it showed different patterns made by the a Australians and to me all the stitches looked like the ones we make. They may have some patterns that we don't have but that would be the only difference that I can see.
- Try this site : http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory.php or http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/baby.html This page will help with american/australian differences http://www.crochetaustralia.com.au/webcontent3.htm
- bevscountrycottage.com has tons of free baby patterns--I go there all the time. They are all American, but crochetaustralia.com.au has information on translating American terminology and hooks so you can use them.
