- When my medium sized dog was a puppy, and we went for a walk one day, she was attacked by a pit bull who came out of no where. That dog ripped her neck wide open. Blood was everywhere. When i took her home from the vet, she was very weak. She rested a lot but wagged her tail a lot too. She had many stitches. I just made sure she didn't work so hard to bend down to drink water so I placed the bowl on top of a book to make it easy for her. Same with her food. She had the corner of the room to herself with her fluffy bed. I just gave her lots of love and rest.
- Cleanse and redress the wound daily, check for any oozing or puss, if you see either you should contact your vet right away, as these are signs of infection. Be sure to give medications on time, not skipping any doses. As your vet requested, keep an eye on her diet, make sure she is eating and drinking adequately. Other than that, just give her lots of TLC.
